Case study introduction

My subject will be about Winston Royce and Dr. Barry Boehm that established software development life cycle which is also known as software development process, which without them software development life cycle won't exist.

Winston Walker Royce (August 15, 1929 – June 7, 1995) Born in 1929, Royce attended the California Institute of Technology where he earned his BS in physics, his MS in aeronautical engineering and his PhD in aeronautical engineering under Julian David Cole in 1959. He was an American computer scientist, founder of the Austin, Texas Lockheed Computer Development Centre. He was a pioneer in software development, known for his 1970 paper, from which the software development model for Waterfall was mistakenly drawn.

Barry W. Boehm (born 1935) is an American software engineer, honoured professor of computer science, industrial engineering and systems engineering; TRW professor of engineering; and managing coordinator of the University of Southern California Centre for Information and Software Engineering. He's recognised for his many achievements to the software engineering industry.
